Honestly, a mango yogurt lassi is one of the few things that will help my attitude during this crazy Indian heat. Did I mention that it's 94 degrees in my living room? I don't even want to know how hot it is in the kitchen....
The summer heat does help me appreciate the basic things in life. Like the shade of a tree. The slightest movement of air is bliss, and a shower is pretty close to paradise for me.
And then there are sweet juicy mangoes. Combine that with yogurt and a few other things. You've got an instant bad attitude buster!
Mango Yogurt Lassi
3/4 cup mango puree or 1-2 fresh mangoes (washed, peeled, chopped, and pureed)
1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
2 1/4 cups cold water
3 teaspoons sugar
crushed ice, as desired
1. Blend the yogurt, sugar, and cold water at high speed.
2. Add mango puree. Mix well.
3. Pour mango lassi over crushed ice in two glasses.
4. Brings a smile to two people :-)
